buttons and beans
I am sitting in my room with the sound of the sea outside the balcony door. I picked up these rocks and they reminded me of buttons and beans(jelly, kidney, pinto...) I LOVE the beach!
I KNOW you wish you were here. Tee hee.

a bit of spring
A couple of weeks ago, the good husband trimmed the fruit trees. When I saw the pile of branches laying there with buds all ready to blossom I thought I'd bring some inside and see if they'd bloom. Sure enough, in about a week they began to pop open. I LOVE having it up in my kitchen window watching the progress. Now it is sprouting leaves, too. Ah, Spring...(see last blog entry!!!)
This morning
So, I got up this morning and this is what was going on. Now the sun has come out and I don't think it will last long. Figures it would get cold since the garden is ready to plant and I bought some tomato plants and a new lemon tree. I brought the tree inside so I could take good care of it!
What I really need are some cute grandchildren to make me a snowman!

Merry Christmas!
I just wanted to wish you all--near or far--a Merry Christmas! Don't forget we celebrate this holiday for the Savior who has lived and died for us all. I want to always be together with my family. I love you all.

My favorite quilt
This is my favorite quilt. I love the colors, I love the softness of the Moda fabric, and I love the quilting. I keep this in my bedroom for lovely afternoon naps on cool days. It feels GOOD! I found the quilt pattern in a cute quilt store in Atascadero, CA on a business trip with my husband. The quilt reminds me of the California coast, one of my very favorite places to be.

tender mercies from the Lord
So, I was cleaning my room today and I came to a tote bag I sometimes use when on trips. When I picked it up, a vivid picture came into my mind of me finding the diamond from my wedding ring. I had lost it two years ago. At the time I hunted everywhere for it but couldn't find it. So I got a flashlight and hunted through several pockets and the cell phone case and the zippered pouch. Then I took everything out of the purse's main section and shined my flashlight into it. There was this little beauty shining at me! Now, seriously, that is a tender mercy from the Lord. I said a prayer of thanks right then.
I could totally have dumped the crumbs and whatnot from the purse straight into the trash, but instead I looked carefully and found a gem.
Isn't that a heartwarming story? It is to me.
